Katherine Sawma has a deep breadth of experience in both the legal and insurance industries. Prior to joining ClaimsFirst, she served as a senior EPL claims consultant at a large independent insurance brokerage and consulting firm, where she provided high-level end-to-end employment practices liability insurance advocacy and consultancy services to policyholders with domestic and international business operations. Her past experience also includes serving as Claims Counsel for Hiscox Insurance Co. and Great American Insurance Co., where she focused on employment practices liability and officers liability insurance policies. She has also practiced at private law firms in the areas of professional liability and EPLI. Ms. Sawma earned her J.D. from the John Marshall Law School (now the University of Illinois Chicago School of Law) and her B.A. from Miami University. She is admitted in the Illinois Supreme Court, U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois and U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit.
