Lisa Kounitz

Lisa Kounitz brings more than two decades of experience in the legal and insurance sectors. Prior to joining ClaimsFirst, she spent 17 years at CNA Insurance as a Claims Consultant, managing a large number of claims involving directors and officers of not-for-profit homeowner associations, condominiums and co-ops, as well as handling D&O and Employment Practices Liability matters for various other non-profit organizations including nursing, homes, country clubs and trade organizations. Previously, she worked in corporate law at a private firm, where part of her job involved negotiating with insurers on the company’s behalf. Earlier in her career, she also served as an Assistant County Attorney in the Appeals Bureau of the Westchester Country Attorney’s Office, where she largely worked on personal injury cases, civil servant disciplinary hearings, and child abuse and neglect cases. Prior to that, she worked at an insurance defense law firm in the environmental practice group. Ms. Kounitz holds a B.A. from Vassar College and a J.D. from American University Law School. She is admitted in New York and is a licensed adjuster in several states.
