Douglas Crone has a diverse background spanning decades in both the legal and insurance industries. Prior to joining ClaimsFirst, he worked as a claims consultant for CNA in Chicago, handling claims against professionals, including insurance agents and accountants, and also managed a program relating to the defense of ethical claims against judges. His legal practice primarily involved civil litigation. Before working in the insurance industry, he practiced law at defense firms in Chicago. His practice focused on insurance defense, professional liability, and commercial law in defense of companies, individuals, insurers and other entities. He later worked for the Harris County Attorney’s Office in Houston, Texas, defending employment law matters. Mr. Crone earned his BA from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and his JD from Northwestern University School of Law. He holds an active law license in the State of Texas.
